A Weblog of Musings & Channelled Observations Along the Intuitive Path
There was a stand-up comic once who wrote a bit about people being handed their sign, like a placard on a stick. It was extra funny to me, since dealing in signs and symbolism (albeit the metaphysical type) is one of the ways I am able to channel messages.
The signs we observe in our day-to-day life hold great meaning, no matter how small nor insignificant they may seem, at first, or to others. A symbol may be as simple as hearing a song, noticing a cloud, feeling a breeze. Or it could be as specific as being gifted a present, document, or other tangible item, complete with tag and named person.
What many folks don’t understand, or don’t seem to appreciate, is that these signs and symbols, each of them, are equally important. The big and the tiny, the vague and the clear. Each is intentional. And truly? If we acknowledged EVERY single one, we wouldn’t have time to do anything else.
We’ve all been tootling along, living/surviving, when we are instantly reminded of a person (alive or dead). The memory pops into our heads, seemingly out of nowhere. But is it really? Was it actually this random thought? Or could it be that particular soul is thinking of you, too? The spirit is reaching out, connecting with us, when we need it most.
Why do we find coins? Feathers? Ladybugs and butterflies? All in places they wouldn’t “normally” be? Because they were SENT to us. Because someone, somewhere (either this side of the veil or that), is delivering a message. Giving us a gift. Reminding us that we are loved, treasured, and remembered.
The question of “what does it mean” comes up often when talking about signs and symbols, messages and portents. Most often, the answer is, this is simply a loved one or member of our Team* reaching out in reassurance. Merely waving and saying “hey, I’m good, are you?” very much as we would do if we were texting a friend or family member we hadn’t heard from in a while and wanted to check in on.
There isn’t always a huge life-changing exclamation involved. It’s generally a much more mundane sort of communication, like a virtual hug or friendly hand gesture across a crowded room.
When we are struggling, and feeling like we could really use some help, that’s often when we receive the most signs. It can also, unfortunately, be when we aren’t in the mental state to see or hear them. If we practice, and allow our vision to soften, listening with our heart, we can absolutely become more open and receptive.
I promise, they are sending them. Now it’s on us, can we be in a place to accept them?
